The eyes are the windows to the world, allowing you to see all of earth's beauty surrounding you. Over time, you could experience a few issues with your eyes and should seek help from the optometrist. Some vision concerns you may think will go away on their own, and they may, but you should still seek help from the optometrist. Read on for a few vision concerns that you should keep an eye out for.
Circles of Light
If you are seeing circles of light or halos around everything you look at, it could be concerning. Halos of light can sometimes appear around bright lights, especially on a rainy night, but if you are seeing halos of light around every light during the day and night, it may be an issue such as cataracts. Your vision may also appear blurry as well. If you have cataracts, surgery may need to be performed in order to correct your vision. If you are seeing halos of light, get to the optometrist for a checkup and exam of your eyes and get the proper treatment to correct your vision.
Your vision may become blurry as you age, which may require you to wear eyeglasses or contact lenses. If your blurry vision comes and goes, it may be something else. Blurred vision that only makes an appearance from time to time could be from something putting pressure on the back of the eyes, or it could be some other sort of medical condition such as diabetes. Either way, you should consult your physician and optometrist about these issues and have your eyes examined.
Loss of Vision
If you are missing any portion of your vision or have cloudy or blocked vision, it's something to be concerned about and should be looked into further. Even if it goes away, it could happen again. Have your vision examined and discuss what happened and what you were doing at the time of the vision loss/vision issues to help you get a better diagnosis and proper treatment.
If you have any of these vision concerns, get to the optometrist for a vision exam. Be sure to have your eyes checked each year to ensure your eyes and vision stay healthy. Report any issues or concerns, even if you think they may be minor problems. They could be more serious than you think. Make sure you are doing what you can to keep your eyes healthy. Wear your eyeglasses/contact lenses as needed, and give your eyes a break from devices throughout the day. Also, remember to eat a healthy diet to keep your vision healthy as well.
